Fishing trip with Larry W. and Larry D. Up north near Gaylord, MI.

Many thanks to Larry W. and his daughter Janet for hosting our stay at the family’s log home.

A serene scene on the small lake. We had pleasant, cool weather.
The first of 4 bass on Monday. It was a good day to fish!

On Wednesday and Thursday, we were fortunate to have the pontoon boat, with Captain Larry, and traveled to the far south end of the lake and back.

Fishing – September 2018

Larry W. and his wife Mary Jane were so kind as to invite me and Larry D. up to their family’s cabin in the pines. On the private lake the fishing was excellent as the large mouth bass were hitting well almost every day. We were joined by a bald eagle who observed us closely and snatched up bluegills we tossed to him. That was the icing on the cake! For the eagle video, go to:

We each caught one keeper on Tuesday. They were delicious thanks to Larry W’s culinary skills.

The #1 method for big bass was using small panfish for bait. I caught 6 like this on Tuesday.
